True Confessions: I wear ugly sweats

There are certain things we are not proud of as parents. Things we know will be part of our kids memories, part of our history. I am sure I have many bad parenting moments that will land my kids in therapy. But I also have one major fashion faux pas that haunts them, my ugly morning sweat suit.

The morning is a challenge for me. I try to pack healthy lunches, be sure the kids are dressed, ready to go, and not forgetting a project or instrument. In order for me to do all of this, I can not really focus on showering or even dressing. Getting dressed for me is always a project. I have to be in the mood for certain outfits. I used to be quite a fashionista, and try on numerous outfits. Now I dress to try and disguise my mid section, and age ! So at ten until eight, I dash upstairs, and throw on my trusty, fuzzy, J.Jill sweat suit. The elastic waist is so forgiving, and they are quite comfy. (no need for a bra, they are that thick. ) I top that off with my old Ugg boots.  I can be ready in a flash. If I were to get in an accident, I can still get out of the car. My trusty sweats have been my morning uniform all year. (I do wash them, and substitute lame sweats.) 

I can not imagine my mornings without my sweats. I need them as much as I need my Peets coffee. I confess, I wear really dorky "mom" sweats. ( thought about posting this on the fashion blog  that I write for, but fear I would get kicked off.) My kids and husband mock me, but I will continue to wear them proudly. In fact, I may try to buy another pair. (And yes that is really me in the photo, my kids will be horrified that I put in on this blog!)
