OK, I just watched and even though I thought it was a positive segment, I would have a lot of questions for the producers, such as BlogHer Business deserved at least a brief description since they used it for b-roll, it was sloppy with the chyrons,(did they ever i.d. Kristen?), I only understood the duck story because I read the posts and I know it's not necessarily mom-blog related, but how do you interview Heather Armstrong without at least a short explanation of the origin of the word "dooced". Maybe I'm just too picky. I also agree with the comments I've seen on Twitter - how can Kathie Lee pose a question about kid privacy? Does she think she think her Regis days of blabbing everything about Cody and Cassidy are erased in our minds? TV is just as much a "permanent record" as the blogosphere.

It was great seeing you on the today show! You did a great job and I think Kathie Lee was right in asking that question. I don't blog about my kids or post pics of them and I have a very successful blog so it can be done!

I agree with Martha's observations, but I really enjoyed Janet Shamlian's post (the NBC reporter who interviewed you guys) on the experience and would have liked to have seen more of THAT interview. Left a comment on her post saying so, but the comments aren't published yet.

Good job, Mommas!

Good interview, felt rushed and choppy, but also it's a morning news show.

I know that Kathie bragged about her kids, but writing about them and posting pictures as they grew is another thing.

I think Kathie is right, something is just not right about sharing that level of intamcy. I think btw the Heather is just trying to justify to herself that she's exposed Leta far too much. Of course Leta likes seeing herself on the video's she's 4, not 14 and she doesn't understand that some people, likely her peers will use that information for harm.

I agree that all of the bloggers looked and sounded great in the segment. I also agree that it seemed rushed. I think it's fine to share information about the kids. I think we should focus on the positive, rather than unlikely negative things that could occur. I am grateful to Heather for everything she's shared. She's helped so many people through difficult times.

I agree with Kathie Lee. She might talk about her kids but she also has body guards and probably lives on a "compound." She was also broadcasting in an earlier time before everyone was on-line.

When you start putting pictures of your kids, talking about their schools, their activities, etc., it's just too easy for a whack-job to stalk them.

I think it's a pedifile's dream come true to have stories and pictures that are easily accessed. Furthermore I don't want any of my kids to be in some perv's "spank bank."

I work for a nat'l non-profit, Children's Way, whose purpose is to protect children from Internet addictions and pedophiles. I know way more than I want to know about cyberspace and the VERY real dangers kids can experience in it. So the above comments and concerns are right on.

First a little commercial, then a genuine compliment: our site, www.woogiworld.com is free, academically sound, character building and trains kids in Internet safety. We have character-building adventures that motivate them through points and prizes to get offline applying what they've learned on our site--hence, we're building balanced, contributing and safe kids. Check it out with your children, then let me know what you think: alice@childrensway.com.

Now the genuine compliment: As a mom of 7 and a grandma of 5, I've got a ton of experience and perspective under my belt. I have to say, I am so impressed with you young moms--your skill, your strength, your senses of humor, and your integrity. And I applaud you all--today's children are in good hands!

I am honestly surprised to see so many people agreeing with Kathie Lee here already. I wonder if she's the pot or the kettle here?

Whether you agree with her or not, can we at least mention what a complete git she was? Who starts off an interview with a blogger by bragging about how little they know about computers? She is an idiot.

Not only was she an idiot, but she was rude. To attack Heather at the end like she did - Ah Ha! I got you, I don't live in New York City - was just rude and uncalled for. Not to mention, a crappy segue into outdoor furniture.

There is a reason she hasn't been on television for years. I'm sorry that the Today show forgot those reasons and decided to sully the airwaves with her presence again.

I totally agree, Kathy Lee is an IDOT! She could of gotten such a great interview from Heather, we learned nothing about her. From the sounds of it Kathy has probably never even visited her site. AHHHH

I wonder if Kathie Lee was pretending to not know what blogs are- for the sake those who might not live in the age of computers.
Then, I remember what an idiot she is, and I wonder WHY anyone let her back on TV.

There will always be differing opinions on how much exposure, if any, of our kids is too much.

And, as others have said here - and I whole heartedly agree - is that whether you believe KLG to be correct or not has little to do with how disrespectful she was as a "professional journalist".

She was ill prepared for the segment, and for Heather specifically. IMHO that's very disrespectful to the guest and to an audience tuning in for more than just one person's self-admitted uneducated opinion.

I don't know KLG. And I won't judge her personal beliefs and opinions. However, she is being paid to be a professional journalist on a very credible outlet and I would have hoped she'd acted like one.

It was a nice piece. Mommy bloggers rock. If you're ever in the mood for a male perspective, I'm a single dad (in silicon valley) blogging about two-home parenting, modern dating (online dating, hookups, booty calls, etc. - voyeurism is welcome), and raising teens.

wow that was surreal to see you all on tv!!!

you all did a great job + looked fabulous

i personally don't put any family pictures or names online, to protect us, but i'll never get to be on the today show, or make the big bucks, so it's a trade off.

You looked great! KLG is such an idiot, and why they chose her is beyond me.

We all choose to write what we want to, share what we want. It is a personal choice. I do not think they did mom bloggers justice in the piece. You all looked great on tv! Bravo!
